IAVA Collects Cash and Supplies for Buffalo VA Hospital | Print |  Email

In August 2006, an Iraq vet and IAVA representative ran a campaign to collect donations.  Dozens of local IAVA supporters participated.  In a matter of days, we raised $240 in cash and checks, along with hundred of dollars worth of books and supplies, and even a new CD player for the vets staying at the hospital.

On behalf of all Buffalo-area Iraq and Afghanistan vets, thanks to everyone who participated.

This Friday and Saturday, you can help local wounded Iraq veterans get the care they deserve.  The veterans' hospital in Buffalo is in desperate need of a wide array of items, from toothpaste to wheelchairs -- not to mention comfort items like newspapers and books.  You can help.

1) If you don't have time to collect supplies, please donate now through our secure online server. It only takes a second, and every dollar makes a difference.  All donations will go directly to buy the missing items on the Buffalo VA Hospital wishlist!

2) Stop by our drive this weekend and bring any of the items you've collected or a check made out to VA WNY HEALTHCARE SYSTEM. I'll be at a table from 1 to 5pm Friday and 1 to 6pm Saturday. Here's the address:

MODA
616 Elmwood Avenue
Buffalo, NY 14222

3) Tell Your Friends. Send this email to your friends and let them know about the fundraiser. Ask them if they can contribute materials or pledge financial support.

4) Interested in getting more involved? If you're willing to help me man the table or drop off materials at the hospital, please send me an email and let me know. You can also download and pass out this flier to spread the word about the fundraiser.

On behalf of all Buffalo-area Iraq and Afghanistan vets, thank you for being a part of IAVA.
