IAVA's Paul Rieckhoff Takes the New Veterans Movement to Capitol Hill

IAVA Executive Director Paul Rieckhoff met with top lawmakers last week to discuss the critical issues facing the newest generation of Veterans - from PTSD to rising divorce rates, employment problems, and more frequent suicides among Troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

After the meeting, we asked you to contact your Senators and thank them for making Veterans issues a priority. Click Here to see the results.

While Paul spoke at the invitation of the Senate Democratic Steering Committee, this is hardly a partisan issue, and he is looking forward to having that same conversation with leaders from both sides of the aisle.

IAVA  Teams Up With Member Veteran to Present the "Veteran Films" Project

IAVA has teamed up with CA-based Sand Storm Productions to present the Veteran Films project. OIF Veteran Sean Huze, the mastermind behind Sand Storm Productions and this project, had this to say about the project's first film:

"Homecoming is the first in what we hope will be a series of short films related to the war in Iraq and/or the veterans' experience upon return. Homecoming focuses on the turmoil war inflicts on its combatants and their families and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)."
