A former New Haven Register reporter, Scavetta was a staff writer in Iraq and Afghanistan for the historic Stars & Stripes, a daily newspaper for the military overseas. Activated in the Army Reserve in 2004, Scavetta served as chief of media relations for Combined Joint Task Force 76 (airborne infantry) in Afghanistan from 2005 to 2006. 

A compelling storyteller, Scavetta offers his insights into media coverage of events in Iraq and Afghanistan - a "dose of reality" from both sides of the wire.
