Saturday, May 21, Canal Room, New York City
A great big thanks to everyone who attended the event, and especially to all of our great musical guests and celebrity MCs. The evening was a huge success, raising much need funds to keep the lights on in our office and keep our progress strong in the coming months. More than 450 people attended the event, including dozens of IAVA member Vets. Al Franken, Janeane Garofalo and Randi Rhodes from Air America Radio were the evening's celebrity MCs, and actor Tim Robbins, the evening's special guest, treated the crowd to a solo performance of his own songs. Musical guests Milo Z and the Laura Thomas Band kept the crowd on their feet throughout the evening.

Great NYC funk band Milo Z gets into it. The Laura Thomas Band entertains the crowd. Actor Tim Robbins, who played a few tunes himself.
We would like to extend a special thanks to the owners and staff of the Canal Room, who all played a big part in making the evening such a success. It is a great venue, and the bartenders, bouncers, waitresses -- everyone -- were incredibly enthusiastic about pitching in for IAVA.
One final thanks goes to Jess White and the whole crew at JW Artist Management. Jess and her team are consummate professionals who volunteered their time and energy (not for the first time, either) to make the night run smoothly. We cannot say enough about how generous Jess has been in helping out IAVA.
