Killing of 3 Afghan policemen | Print |  Email
Keith Kluwe responds to this article on the accidental killing of three Afghan policemen by coalition forces.
It's regretable that three Afghan policemen were killed and three were wounded by U.S. troops, but completely understandable given the continued and escalating violence that has plagued Afghanistan the last year.  This case is a paralell of the case in Iraq where an Italian federal law enforcement officer was killed and three other Italian citizens were wounded when they approach a U.S. checkpoint at a high rate of speed. The soldier accused of firing the fatal shots has been charged by the Italian government. I'm glad I'm not overseas anymore. It is scary to think that I could have been charged criminally, especially by a foreign government, for taking action to ensure my safety and the safety of other coalition soldiers.
